DFW18 Proceedings

Did you present at the 2018 David Foster Wallace Conference?  We're pleased to (finally!) invite submissions for the DFW17 Proceedings.  Any presentation given at DFW18 is eligible for consideration.  We'll use blind review to review the submissions - before uploading a copy of your presentation, please remove all identifying information.  Ensure that the title provided in the file matches the title you include on your submission form.

Please use our Submission Form to have your presentation considered.  Deadline is September 30, 2018.

DFW18 Schedule

The Fifth Annual David Foster Wallace Conference took place at Illinois State University from June 7-9, 2018, and has been dedicated to the memory of Charlie Harris.  The late Professor Harris was the ISU department chair who hired David Foster Wallace and one of the most important supporters of our conference.

Highlights of DFW18:
  • Our keynote by Clare Hayes-Brady, author of The Unspeakable Failures of David Foster Wallace.
  • A talk and workshop by Sean Allen Pratt, renowned audiobook narrator of Infinite Jest.
  • A remembrance of Charlie Harris.
  • Documentary project by Ben Kolak of Scrapper's Film Group.

Clare Hayes-Brady is the author of The Unspeakable Failures of David Foster Wallace
The audiobook version of Infinite Jest was narrated by Sean Allen Pratt
Charlie Harris was one of the most important supporters of the DFW Conference.  He provided guidance and encouragement to keep the organization running.
Scrapper's Film Group filmed footage for their documentary on the conference, completion expected in Fall 2018.
